‘Eyes of the Reef’

LIHU‘E — The Hanalei Watershed Hui is presenting “Eyes of the Reef,” a presentation about the threats to Hawai‘i’s coral reefs and volunteer training for coral reef monitoring, on Friday night, according to a press release.
The event, which will feature Dr. Greta Aeby, assistant researcher at Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology, who works to understand marine disease processes in Hawai‘i and other areas of the Indo-Pacific.
In addition, she serves as the Climate Change and Marine Disease Local Action Strategy Coordinator for the Hawaii Division of Aquatic Resources with the current focus being on developing Hawai‘i’s rapid response contingency plan for events of coral bleaching and disease.
The presentation will be held at 7 p.m. at Hale Halawai ‘Ohana o Hanalei, the release said.
