County manager system presentation set for Monday

LIHU‘E — The county Charter Review Commission has invited David Mora, a former California city and county manager, to do a presentation on the county manager form of government, a county news release states.
The presentation is scheduled for 6 p.m., Monday, at the War Memorial Convention Hall.
A question and answer session will follow.
Those unable to attend the event will be able to watch it on Ho‘ike, channel 53, at a later date. For scheduling information, visit www.hoike.org.
Mora is currently the West Coast regional director of the International City/County Management Association, an organization that fosters professional local government management worldwide and provides technical and management assistance, training and informational resources to its members and the broader local government community, the release says.
Mora retired last year after serving 35 years in California local government including: city manager of Salinas and Oxnard; town manager of Los Gatos; and various management positions for the city of Santa Barbara.
The presentation is sponsored by the county in partnership with a number of organizations including: the Kapa‘a Business Association; Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce; Kaua‘i Economic Development Board; Kaua‘i Filipino Chamber of Commerce; Kaua‘i Planning and Action Alliance; Koloa Community Association; Lihu‘e Business Association; and the Wailua-Kapa‘a Neighborhood Association.
